My Dog Is Digging And/or Chewing at the Grass!Updated 5 months ago

For those playful pups, the grass is a new novelty that gets their curiosity going, which sometimes results in digging and chewing. We suggest that you supervise your dog when using the DoggieLawn to continually reinforce positive behavior AND immediately put a stop to any undesired behavior like digging, chewing and snoozing! After a little while, your dog will get the hint and stop digging.

We recommend trying a bitter spray, like this, to spray directly on the lawn. That way they will get a bitter taste in their mouth the next time they try to chew on it. This will help if they are chewing on other things too!

As for digging, we designed an anti-digging kit for puppies. It consists of aviary netting that you can wrap over the grass, kind of like a hair net, to get your dog to stop chewing and/or digging up the grass until they get trained on how to use it. After a couple times of trying unsuccessfully to get at the grass, they should lose interest and stop playing with it all together.

Your training may need to take a slower approach, done at times when you can supervise. That, in addition to once they start using it more regularly as a potty, the urge to chew on it should subside.
